The Statewide Wildlife Rescue Emergency Service (W.R.E.S.) was established in 2005 by a small group of dedicated wildlife carers who are passionate about Australia's unique wildlife. With ever increasing demands put on our wildlife, many more volunteers are needed to perform rescues for injured or orphaned wildlife throughout the Central Victoria region. Statewide W.R.E.S. is a non-profit organisation funding itself through goodwill donations, memberships and community sponsorship. If you would like to make a donation, please go to the Donations page where you can download a printable donation coupon. If you would like to become a member or a voluteer please contact us using the details on the left hand panel. A printable membership form will be available on this site soon.
Our mascot, the Wedge Tailed Eagle inside the diamond, is called "Freedom". Freedom suffered a bruised AC (shoulder) joint after hitting power lines on a farm. She was successfully released by Neil at Pyramid Hill, Victoria on Saturday the 3rd of April, 2004 after being in care for 3 weeks.
